GOLF INSTRUCTION


Baron Addis

Baron, a native of Greenville began golf at age 8. Years late he was a top performer for Riverside High School. Baron began working at Carolina Springs Golf Club in 1998 as an assistant and moved on to the Head Golf Professional job in 2001. Baron has run many sucessful junior clinics and is availble of private or group lessons for adults or juniors. Baron is currently enrolled in the PGA/PGM programs and can be found at The Eagle Zone, 864.288.0001.

Steve Goforth

An Upstate, SC native, Steve has over 15 years experience in the golf industry. Steve started playing the game of golf at age 8 and played in many junior events and played for Wren High School. He later worked at Hejaz Golf Course in Mauldin, SC. Steve also worked at Slazenger golf as a custom club builder, certified fitting professional, and instructor. Steve is a member of the PCA (Professional Club Maker's Society) and is enrolled in the PGA program. Steve conducts individual lessons and works with group clinics as well. Sandy Halkett

Sandy is a Greenville native who began playing sports at a young age. While attending Eastside High School she played basketball, soccer, and tennis, later going on to play soccer at Clemson University. While at Clemson Sandy began playing golf and quickly developed a passion for the game. Sandy exchanged her soccer cleats for golf spikes and has played ever since. Sandy has been teaching for 12 years and is a class "A" member of the LPGA T&CP and apprentice in the PGA program. Sandy formerly worked as the Head golf professional at the Cliffs of Glassy and Millstone Village Golf Club. Sandy is also the golf coach for the Special Olympics and works with "Adaptive Golf' (a teaching program designed for physically challenged individuals) Sandy came to The Eagle Zone in 2006 and is available for lessons. 864.288.0001

Jamie Michala

Prior to joining The Eagle Zone, Jamie was the Head Golf Professional at The Thornblade Club for 7 years. Before that she worked for Dick Harmon at River Oaks Country Club in Houston, Tx. A graduate of Southen Methodist University in Dallas, Jamie competed for the SMU women's golf team, contributing to 2 top-5 team finishes for SMU and earned a 7th place individual finish in the 1986 NCAA championship. She was the New York state women's amateur champion in 1986 and competed in the 1983 Women's US Open. Jamie teaches at The Eagle Zone, 864.288.0001.

Wayne Myers
Wayne Myers has been the golf professional at Southern Oaks since the course opening in 1989. An All-American collegiate golfer, Wayne started working in the Upstate area in 1978. Wayne hosts a radio show on 104.9, "In the Rough with Papa Puff." He has won numerous playing awards and shot a world record lowest round at Southern Oaks in 1994 with a -15 under par score of 57. He is a class A PGA professional and offers lessons and clinics at Southern Oaks. 864.859.6698

Chad Phillips

Chad was introduced to the game of golf at age 4 in his home state of Michigan. Chad compteted in numerouse tournaments as a junior and won 2 state titles in high school in the state of Michigan. Turning pro at the age of 19, Chad has worked as an assitant golf pro at numerouse golf courses around the Country. Chad came to The Eagle Zone in 2005 and is now the Director of Instruction at The Eagle Zone.
